To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Anesthesia or Surgury? Which one triggered or caused the change - the anesthesia or surgury? I recently had a surgical procedure. I had my soft pallet shortened, my uvula removed, and my nasal passages shrunken. During the procedure I was under general anesthesia I woke up in a cat scan. The reason was that my heart rate went to 150 bpm, my blood pressure dropped and my oxygen level dropped. Fluid was found in my lungs and quickly removed via medication. I remained on oxygen for the next 16 hours and could not maintain good oxygen level without it. Also my heart rate remained high – 130 while in bed for that time frame and would shoot to 150+ if I moved around in bed. It’s been 4 months and my resting heart rate is now 120 bpm vrs 80 bpm prior to the procedure. I have also lost words and my ability to remember passwords and phone numbers. I have solicited help from a heart doctor and a neurologist. I have yet to find an answer to my problem. Has anyone had a similar problem or could someone help me figure this out please. Comments
