To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Misdiagnosed, almost died I had a terrible pain in my abdomen behind and around my belly button area. Paced from midnight to 6am before I had someone take me to the Emergency Room. Uneducated doctor in ER did NO tests, guessed I had food poisoning, gave me antacids that did nothing. I asked for a shot for the pain, then was sent home. When pain medication wore off I curled up for ten days until my insurance could get me in for a Catscan. Then the hospital said they couldn’t get me in for the catscan for another week. I insisted I needed to come in right away. They finally agreed. I went in at 3pm (they weren’t even busy). They did the catscan and told me my doctor would call in a few days with the results. I waited in the parking lot of the hospital for my ride home when my doctor called and told me to go back into the hospital lobby and wait for a surgeon. I needed an emergency appendectomy or I was told I would die. Surgeon told me it was a miracle I didn’t die a week earlier. June 2009
