I started getting sick on Friday night, laid in bed with pain on the lower right side of my belly, all day and night Saturday. Sunday I crawled upstairs to turn in assignments for my on line class, and decided to go to the hospital. I had emergency surgery that evening around 5 p.m. They had to remove about 8 inches of my intestine. Surgery lasted over 4 hours. They told me it was really bad and I was really sick. I spent 12 days in the hospital, went home for a few days, then spent 7 more days in the hospital and had a tube put in to drain an abcess. Went home for a few more days and went back into the hospital for another 7 days and found out that I have a hole in my intestine. So here I am over six months later with an ostomy bag for my fistulas to drain into and a tube in my belly with a bag attached to it. I am back at work after missing 8 weeks, and I am having surgery again in another month to hopefully correct my problems. It has been tough but God is good and He gets me through everything. September 2009
