My Colon Resection was on May 26,2008

I have been dealing with extreme pain for many years. Due to many belly surgeries I developed adhesions. I lived through a horrible bowel obstruction and after that several hernias(insicional). I couldn’t find a surgeon to help me for years. My bowels wouldn’t move for weeks, and I am not exagerating. Then they wouldn’t move at all unless forced. I was sick and in so much pain,I had no hope of any kind of joy in my life. Finally I found a wonderful Doctor that didn’t want to do the surgery, due to my history, but finally agreed. I believe he had to remove a foot of my sigmoid colon and said that their wasn’t on piece of my intestine that wasn’t covered with adhesions. I feel a lot better now…but my bowels are still not quite moving the way they should and that concerns me…is there anyone that has experienced this that might have some answers? My surgeon said we might have to go back (through my anus) to open my intestines. Sometimes this happens. Anyone out there with any input? I have a lot of faith in my surgeon cause I haven’t felt this good in years, but I am just afraid that due to my body, not the doctor. That this isn’t normal. My bowels still aren’t doing what they should or am I just expecting too much too fast.
