Coping With Colon Resection

I am a white 45 year old female who not only has had this happen once, but now it has occurred 2 times in the last 9 months. July 15, 08 I spent 3 weeks in the hospital following complications after surgery and going home on home health care with pic lines for 2 antibiotic administered 4 times a day. I thought all was well, when all of a sudden it hit like a train into my stomach.

Unfortunately on March 19th, 09, I had a ER run once again to the hospital and was on the operating table again having the same surgery performed. Please to those out there who think it can’t happen 2 times, it can!! I had no warning and my Blood Pressure shot very high along with violent vomiting suddenly without warning!! This time there was no chance of waiting to try to stabalize me with antibiotics before surgery. I am finally home and just had my staples removed again, unpleasant as well from my abdomen today.

Please take care and don’t wait if you have any indications that you could have 2nd attack of this disease. You will want a 2nd chance at life. I didn’t possibly think it was happening again since it was on the other side of my abdomen this time. Good luck to all sufferers of this awful disease.
