To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Colon Resection This just all took place Sept. 14th of this year and now I’m home again. Sept. 14th: Scheduled for a routine Colonoscopy —- had been dealing with a lot of pain for almost 2 years in my lower left side (which we tho’t to be repercussion from a kidney donation I had made almost 2 years ago). After being sent to recovery from colonoscopy, I started to hemorrhage and went right into emergency surgery. Had 2 units of blood given me and that’s when the Dr. found this huge polyp. He tried to coterize it but it wouldn’t quit bleeding and I remember thinking, “is this where I’m going to die?”. I didn’t — just awoke in recovery and spent my recoup time, of 3 days, in the hospital and now I am home. Have almost no discomfort, have no pain, and will be able to return to work, full time, in about 5-6 weeks. I groom dogs so my return to work time will be longer than most people. I do have a lot of restrictions and plan to do what the Dr. ordered. Just wanted someone else to know that having this type of surgery wasn’t as bad (at least for me) as I’ve heard about. I had a wonderful Dr. and excellant care while in the hospital and would urge everyone to get their colonoscopies and by no means PUT THEM OFF as I had done. Maybe this could have been not as serious a situation for me. One more note: even tho I had good care in the hospital, IT SURE FEELS GOOD TO BE HOME!!!!! September 2009
