Surgery went ok, could not be done lap method because of a hernia (which the surgeon repaired) but was up and walking the next day. Went home on 5th day. I just didn’t feel like I was bouncing back like I should be. 16 days after the surgery I started running a fever and passing blood instead of stool. CT Scan revealed an abscess which a radiologist put in a drain tube and I took the same antibiotics as I had for the diverticulitus for 10 days. On the 11th day of drain tube (by the way in my ‘butt-cheek’ misery, another CT scan proved the abscess to be resolved and tube was removed. I feel good now 6 weeks after surgery and will be going back to work. My problem is the doctor told me to stay on Low Fiber, and I think I need the fiber to be more regular. Don’t have too much issue but I think it would be smoother going with higher fiber. Comments
