My whole life was living IBS in one form of anothyer stress of putting myself through grad school as a single mom(no date nights here) those nights were at cub/boy scouts,, me finding a quite place to study….any where even took opportunities at checkout lines. Now I run a Chiropractic office for 7 years at 44 my stomache started hurting I ignored it I was a doctor helping sick people get well. Then one day you wake up at 3:00am in pain. I drove myself to the hospital they kept telling me I must of spraind a abdominal muscle giving my line of work. Believe me I know when I strain a muscle. I begged to call a very known GI specialist 30 nmins later after ct scan I was admitted with divertiulits after 4 days and antibiotics for 2 weeks my Gi DR scheduled my colonoscopy which I had a very aggressive adenocarcinoma which this leaves me here writing my story. I am 14 days post op. I was in hospital 7 full days pumped with enough drugs to kill more then one horse. You get sent home with a bag of gauze and a list of items wou will be needing gauce, tape, hibiclens, peroxide and someone you think told you to scrub your leaking hole where you know your belly button should be… see all of this is in a haze since they just disconnected your private drug button from your IV. So you get your items including your 2 more px of antibiotics the 7 day drip was’nt enough. Now your home all the contets of my walgreens bag is on the bathroom counter and you have a ever so vage memory of the words SCRUB the leaking hole the button. Out of this entire sittuation not that I had cancer nor the fact 1 foot of my sigmoid and the remaning cancer is gone . I freak out having to scrub my belly button, what to do what to do? The first week I squirt on the hibiclens then rinse with a few cups of warm water. I went to my surgeon on Friday and told me to SCRUB the area in question, I started to cry apperantly none of his patients has a thing about their belly buttton that leaks and burbs air. So this is where Im at in my recovery another round of antibiotics(now this makes 2 solid months of 2x antibiotics).I do have questions reguarding the pain people have felt, depression loss of abiliti ty to speak in the language of birth( Im doing a lot of forgetting and not remembering my thoughts. It still can be the antibiotics not sure, also foood what foods have worked which ones advoid. Thank You
