My hemorrhoidectomy

Not every hemorrhoidectomy is as bad as people say. I had one 3 weeks ago and I was no nervous to have it done after reading people’s horror stories online. The first few days after were painful. I could not take the pain medicine because it made me vommit. I would much rather have pain than vommit. My doctor kept telling me to try another type of pain killer, but the pain was tolerable. It probably helped me more because I never got constipated. I took a lot of baths and stayed on a liquid diet for 5 days. The first 2 BMs were the most painful but after 1 week I was feeling great. Now I just have slight burning and spotting during a BM. I feel great and am ready to be active again even though I still need to wait.

I’m very glad I had the surgery. The key to a successful recovery is what you eat and how often you take sitz baths. I took 40 minute baths, about 5 times a day for 10 days. It helped with the pain and I read about 4 books. Type in a search online to get a chart on high fiber foods. I got very creative making meals that had the most fiber.
