To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Hemorrhoidectomy after Birth Worse pain than labor by far. Seriously troublesome. It is constant, throbbing pain until a BM shoots the pain threshold up as high as it can go. I feel like I am going to pass out everytime I have a BM. I whimper and do my breathing exercises to get through it. I am 10 days into recovery and still very, very miserable - but my body is also trying to recover from giving birth to my beautiful baby girl - so it is going crazy healing those wounds, breastfeeding, and dealing with the hemorrhoidectomy. The hemorroids were a result of labor - pushing for over an hour caused large external thrombosed hemorroids. The surgeon was able to remove 3 piles but I still have 2 remaining that restrict the anal opening and complicate my case. I just want to feel better so I can enjoy my new child!!! I am truly miserable. If I knew what exactly the pain I was getting into - I probably would’ve held off on the surgery for awhile- but I am also on maternity leave for 3 months so my husband and I thought it was logical to just get it over with. But it is far tougher than we anticipated. September 2008
