5 weeks and counting

I had my hemorroidectomy done 5 weeks ago. The first 5 days are a blur. Intense pain and hundreds of sitz baths. But I now have days that I feel about 90%. However after a bm it will take hours for the pain to ease. I try not to take the pain medication often but at times that is the only thing to do. Also after most bm’s I still feel a great deal of pressure in the anal region.

I have contacted my dr and her p/a has told me that is normal and that I have gas and to take gasx or something similar. I still take stool softners, laxatives, fiber tablets and eat a high fiber diet. I have also returned to work which isn’t working out very well on somedays. I return to my dr on the 26th for a checkup but I think my recovery will be longer due to the fact that I had external and internal hemorroids which the dr had said that some of them were severe.

It is easy to get depressed and down but I just try to deal with the pain and dream of better days to come.
