To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download post-hemorrhoidectomy i am also 3 days post-op, and still have difficulty urinating. there is nothing more frustrating than trying to pee when the nurses are checking their watches–and under the threat of having to get a catheter inserted!! i ended up going home the evening of my operation with the catheter and pee bag. my husband is an MD so he removed it the following morning. i was told if i could not urinate within 6 hours i wold have to see the surgeone for an emergency office visit. in the privacy of my own home, i was able to, thank god. what also helped is relaxing in a warm bath, and –yes–urinating in the tub water(!). i got so desperate to try to pee, i would try anything, let me tell you. so, if this tip helps someone, GOOD. this is my regimen and i have been having decent luck with bowel movements: stool softener/laxative (colace, but i bought generic) 3xdaily, mineral oil 3T @bedtime, lidocaine/xylocaine 5% ointment for pain, epsom salts for soaking, percocet as needed. good luck!!!
