missed femoral or wrong hernia repair

I had a samll lump went to doctors he sent me to hospital for hernia repair. phoned hospital said 5 months wait so I went private (lot of money) he did a inguinal repair still in pain 2 weeks later still felt small lump and loads of pain. rushed into nhs hospital and femoral hernia same side done. Doc says he missed one my guess is wrong hernia done in first place could have stangulated as months went by between these operations as medical staff (docs) kept telling me lump was only fluid and give time to settle .
