    I had bilateral hip replacement June 22. I walked with a cane the day after surgery and started walking without a cane last week. On my worst day I had less pain than I had on my best day pre-surgery.I did not have to do any rehab. My first surgeon advised me against doing both at once. If I had listened to him, it would have taken me nearly a year to get back to normal. BTW, current research shows that going with bilateral produces much better mobility than doing one at a time.
