will have complete hysterectomy soon

by: Linda on Tue, Apr 22 2008

I just got home from my doctor’s appointment 200 miles away, where the doctor confirmed that I need a total hysterectomy I am 51 years old and was hoping for menopause first — but excessive bleeding prompted a D&C which confirmed early cancer.

Soooo what should I expect? I am a widow and not interested in sex, so loss of a sex drive would be a plus for me. I have family to go with me to the hospital, but when will I be up and around afterward? I will have a 200 mile ride home. Will that be a problem? And work? Even just sitting or standing?
