To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download 2 nissen surgeries july 18 2007 had my first nissen a full wrap which gave me reflux relief but i had alot of trouble with food sticking so we started dilating.did that for 8 months then decided on june 25 2008 to reduce the wrap to a 180 here it is november 2008 juct had a first in a series of dilations.dr. said he will dilate me every 2 weeks for 12 weeks to see if i get any comfort in eating. havent had any reflux at all since the first surgery. my only complaint has been the food sticking and the unbearable gas.the last surgery i had they found that my entire esophagus has very little constriction left in it from the reflux so we are doing the dilations to put off an esophegectomy. im 41 and have alot of faith in my doctor but it just scares me to death knowing they want to take out my esophagus but he always reassures me which is always nice he is a wonderful surgeon 2 surgeries and very small scars and very short recoveries.i thought it would all end with the first nissen but it didnt.but ive learned to hold my head up its no longer in my hand its in the hands of the dr and the big guy upstairs . so if your feeling down hey pick your head up it could always be worse. dont give up before the miracle happens IM NOT November 2008
