To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download So far, so good I have had a large hiatal hernia for more than 10 years, and the GERD had become progressively worse over that time. I had hernia repair and Nissen fundoplication surgery (with laparoscope) nearly two weeks ago. Other than some initial pain during the first week, I am so much better. I am now eating a soft diet, with 5 or 6 small meals throughout the day. I feel full very quickly, but with no discomfort. It is such a relief to no longer have the awful reflux pain that I have dealt with for so many years. I wish I had gone through this surgery years so.
