I actually came home the first night and felt just fine. The 2nd day was a little worse, by the 3rd day - I was having chest pains simply trying to have a bowel movement. I sobbed on the way to the hospital, was admitted with a blood pressure of 170/112. I was heavily drugged to relieve the pain. A few hours later they gave me Milk of Magnesia, Metamucil, and Stool Softners. I had no BM that whole day. The next morning I took another dose of all three medications and by lunchtime I had cleared my constipation. I then stayed overnight again and went home early the next morning. Here is the deal - pain meds are terrible constipators!!!! Am I glad I had it? I am getting there now - but only after over a month! Comments
