To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download BY Katie - Sphincterotomy Succes - 2nd Update I thought I would give another update. I had turned in my story Mach 12, 2009 already on this site. My surgery was on the 4th of March. It has almost been two weeks now since my surgery. I am now off of all pain meds. When I do open my bowels there is a slight sting at the place where the incision was made. It is bareable. I think one more week of sitz baths and stool softners should do the trick. I now just open my bowels two to three times a day compared to several times a day about a week ago. Still having to make some trips to the rest room to change panties and clean up; However, My anal leakage is ten times better then what it was a week ago. I feel like I am 90 % recovered. I am pleased with my progress. My follow up with my surgeon is March 30, 09 I will give another update next week. A tip to anyone that has had this surgery is this. There is a sitz bath that sits on the toilet. You simply open up the toilet seat and set the sitz bath on top of the toilet. I found myself using this sitz bath just about everytime I had to open my bowels and made sure I stayed very clean. Eat Fiber daily and take stool softners as well. Keep the sitz bath as warm as you can stand it and sit there for atleast 15 minutes every time you open your bowels. I got my sitz bath from the hospital so you can ask your nurse if they have this type of bath that just sits on the toilet. The water simply drains into the toilet. IT IS WONDERFUL TO USE FOR THIS TYPE OF proceedure. Good Luck. Comments
